About Amy
Amy is dedicated to providing supportive services to mental health clinicians, including clinical supervision, case consultation, and training, helping helpers develop and reach their full potential, personally and professionally.
Having provided outpatient therapy since 2012, Amy became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2016 and a Certified Sexual Offender Treatment Provider in 2019. She is nationally certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and has received basic training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). Amy has extensive training and over a decade of experience in facilitating developmentally appropriate sexual behavior evaluations for children and adolescents and providing outpatient therapy to individuals with problematic and/or harmful sexual behavior, including children 4+, adolescents, and adults. Amy’s motivation to respond to problematic/harmful sexual behavior includes providing trauma-informed/focused clinical services to victim-survivors of sexual abuse and being active in community collaboration, advocacy, and support efforts.
Amy’s experience in serving those who have harmed and been harmed has led her to understand the importance of self-care in sustaining a career in the helping profession. She has first-handedly observed the gaps that exist in graduate level education, supervision, and program/organizational structure, which can contribute to secondary traumatic stress and burnout. Within her supervisory roles and through targeted training, Amy highlights the opportunities that exist to prioritize the health and wellness of clinicians and teams, and offers practices and skills for clinicians, supervisors, and organizations to protect against, recognize, and respond to career-related stress.
Outside of her work in the mental health field, Amy enjoys exploring nature and attending local music and artisan festivals with her husband and three children. She finds creative outlets in reading, writing, and creating cozy spaces within her home. It would be unusual to catch her without a cup of hot coffee, no matter the season or time of day, and she loves to share photos and stories of her charismatic long-haired chihuahua Stella with anyone who will entertain them.
